How long does it take for you to groom my dog?
Most grooms take no more that 2 hours for a standard size dog. Smaller dogs will require less time and of course the larger breeds and those with a heavier coat may require a longer stay. I will be able to give you a more accurate time-frame once I have met your dog and assessed the coat.
What if I don't want my dog shaved?
Shaving a dog is definitely the last resort and only used if the matting is extensive. My hope is, if your dog required a complete shave, that it would be a once off event and that we can work together to help maintain your dogs coat so that he/she can leave the salon with a beautiful soft, styled coat in the future.
I can offer advice on the correct brushes and combs to use.
How much will it cost?
I have listed on another page prices for the most popular breeds of dog that I see at Mucky Madra Dog Grooming. Some dogs of the same breed will have a different price, this is because there can be a huge difference in coat type for example golden retrievers either come with a light coat or it can be heavily packed with a lot of undercoat requiring much more work. Other breeds can vary in size, some German Shepherds can be small while some others can be quite large dogs. For that reason it's not fair to charge one standard price just based on breed type.
Do you groom difficult or aggressive dogs?
Difficult dogs are part and parcel of a groomers life. It's most important that you tell me if your dog has been hard to handle for another groomer or has bitten another groomer. If your dog is particularly difficult I would be willing to work on improving his/her experience in the grooming salon provided you are willing to work with me. It may mean shorter more frequent trips but the ultimate goal is a happier experience for all involved.
